a little drum roll please...

Although I probably need no introduction, (I doubt any strangers will be following my blogs) I guess I can tell you all why I decided to start blogging. I love to read, I am extremely passionate about reading. So much that I decided to change my major from Spanish to English.  I would love to be in a million book clubs, but will have to start working one day.  If I teach Literature, it will sort of be like getting paid to be the leader of a book club.  And I get to pick all the books!
Like I said, I love to read and discuss my opinions on what I have read.  Rarely do I get to though. Here in the country hunting and fishing seriously out ranks reading and I haven't many people to discuss my readings with.  Those I know that do read as often as I do, usually have different tastes in books.  Like my mother, she reads as much as I do, but is very picky about what she reads. Where as I will read just about anything that someone says "Hey this was a good read". So, if you choose to follow my blog you will no doubt have a wide array of book reviews headed your way and lots of choices to choose from!
I am in school full time, so many of the posts will probably be what I am reading for my classes.  I usually love just about everything I read..or I can find something good about it, so hopefully I will have nothing but recommendations for you all!
I haven't been reading too much this past month while on break from school, I really want to, but have no motivation.  Not to mention I have been busy busy!  I have a wonderful foreign exchange student spending July with my family.  He is from Spain and has quickly become a permanent member of my family.  His cousin is staying down the street with my parents and already feels like a brother to me!  We have been so blessed with two great additions to our family this summer!
Tomorrow marks a huge day for my family!  We go to family court for Trinity's adoption to be finalized!  Chris and Trinity are both so excited to have this completed! So keep your fingers crossed that all goes smoothly and there are no hang ups that our lawyers haven't foreseen and everything is able to be finalized!
Ok, I guess I am going to go randomly select a book off the shelf or out of my e-reader so I can start writing some more!

  1. that's awesome- i'm planning on majoring in english also when i get back to school, basically for the same reason as you. i do love to read and write and when i was little i wanted to be an editor. i was going to go for a journalism degree but that went more into like news reporting and public speech stuff that i didn't really want to get into. i look forward to seeing what books you write about on here! and my fingers are crossed for you guys!

  5. I love that your doing this. I actually am very passionate about reading too. However, I dont make time to do it. My favorite thing to do is spend the day at the bookstore and find a new author or interest of mine. Ive purchased 5 books recently of which ive only read one chapter of each. Unhealthy habit huh? Lol Looking forward to reading your interests and opinions! Maybe, just maybe, we can read the same book and discuss : )
